The CLR is the only national certification that trains and
tests realtime reporters on the technical aspects of
providing realtime to attorneys or judges. The training
teaches reporters to connect and troubleshoot.

Who is eligible for the CLR
seminars and testing?
Any realtime reporter is eligible for the course.
How is the certification training
done?
The CLR training and testing is offered at seminars in cities throughout the U.S. In addition, we offer PRIVATE CLR TRAINING for your reporters to become certified. We will send a trainer directly to your firm with a minimum of 7 attendees! Call us at 1-415-321-3056.
What does the certification training
cover?
The CLR Program prepares reporters to effectively deliver services like serial realtime, Internet realtime, and secure
electronic delivery of transcripts via LiveNote A2B™ and RealLegal® technology.
Once a reporter joins the CLR Program,
how long does she/he have to attain the certification?
The reporter must successfully complete all training and testing within 90 days of the workshop in order to receive
the CLR designation.
What does it take to pass the
CLR Exam?
The CLR Exam consists of three steps:
- Setting up and operating your equipment
- Reporter must have the following equipment:
- Writer
- CAT System - If you do not have a writer
that connects to the CAT system laptop
through a USB cable, the CAT system laptop
must have two COM ports with two available
nine-pin serial ports. Serial ports may be
built in, Socket Card, or USB/Serial Adapter
- Cabling: realtime cable and connection
cables
- Reporter must know how to set up the realtime
output settings for their CAT system
- Reporter should have basic understanding of
Windows terminology (e.g. click, double click,
drag, left and right mouse button, icon, menus,
tool bar, folders/directories)
- Sending a realtime feed to a LiveNote computer
- Passing a written exam
How do I maintain my CLR
certification?
In order to stay competitive and up-to-date with current realtime and litigation management technology, Certified LiveNote
Reporters are encouraged to audit future workshops, at a discounted rate, for continuing education. However, there are no
mandatory renewal fees.
How is my achievement recorded?
After a reporter has attained CLR certification, he/she will
receive a certificate to display in their home or office and
a membership card with CLR#. A CLR logo is also provided to
use on business cards and marketing materials to get the most
benefit from the CLR certification.
Can I submit for CEU credit from the NCRA?
Attendance verification for CEU applications will be provided.
